What's been built.

ZumCast hasn't launched yet. These are the milestones finished so far, newest first. Version numbers start with the first public release.

  1. Organize

The library now organises itself, on your Mac.

    • Smart names: new shots and recordings are named after the app and page they show, as one Undo step.
    • Suggested tags and short summaries you can keep or dismiss.
    • Smart search across text on screen, words you said, app names and tags, showing why each result matched.
    • Web page capture at phone, tablet or desktop width, light or dark.
    • Watermarks on shots, reactions on share links, and a first-run welcome tour.
  2. Angles

3D angles for zooms and shots.

    • An Angle pad for each zoom, with Settle, Hold and Float timing.
    • “Lean into the click” tilts toward the button you pressed.
    • Vary angles between zooms so long videos don't feel repetitive.
    • Tilt for shots, with an optional floor reflection.
  3. Parity pack

The everyday features people expect, so nothing is missing on day one.

    • 102 wallpapers in nine families.
    • Smart redaction now finds faces, money amounts and (when you ask) names.
    • Click and typing sounds, eight caption looks and five caption fonts.
    • Record a GIF straight to the clipboard, copy text from the screen, and a 5-second timer.
    • Screenshot to video, joining recordings, a menu bar library, and Siri and Shortcuts actions.
  4. Release hardening

    Getting ready to ship.

    • Contrast-checked colours, including an Increase Contrast palette.
    • Faster handling of long projects.
    • Localisation checks so every string can be translated.
    • A clear on-screen notice whenever an assistant or script starts a capture.
  5. Brand & Polish

Your brand on every video, in one click.

    • Brand kits with title, chapter and end cards.
    • One-click Polish: cleanup, branding and versions together.
    • Export all: every version, named and ready.
  6. Shots

    Screenshots that look finished.

    • Area, window, display and scrolling capture.
    • A shot editor with arrows, numbered steps, text, spotlight and redaction.
    • Wallpapers, padding, corners, shadows and window, MacBook or browser frames.
  7. Zumi

    An editor that takes requests.

    • Ask in plain English or by voice; Zumi shows the plan on the timeline, cuts in red and zooms in gold.
    • Nothing changes until you press Apply, and one Undo reverses the whole plan.
    • Runs on your Mac, with Apple's on-device model where available and a built-in planner everywhere else.
    • Available from the command-line tool and the MCP server.
  8. Studio

    The editor.

    • Auto-zoom that follows your clicks and typing, a smooth cursor and keys on screen.
    • A timeline with scenes, video and zoom tracks, plus edit-by-text.
    • Camera, captions, frames and layouts, with a separate crop for each format.
    • Export to MP4, MOV and GIF, step-by-step guides and interactive demos.
  9. Hub

    Home base.

    • Start a project from a type (product demo, tutorial and guide, social clip, bug report), each with its own preset.
    • Take a shot or start a recording from one place, or from the HUD with one key.
    • Projects, shots, presets and scripts in one library.
